CHI Oakes Hospital has awarded a $5000 grant to our local Oakes BIO Girls chapter to support program activities between March 2025 and February 2026. The grant, part of the CommonSpirit Health Community Health Improvement Grants program, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable and underserved populations.
“Our Community Health Improvement Grant program is a reflection of our commitment to working towards a healthier future for all,” says Becki Bleese, President at CHI Oakes Hospital. “Supporting access to the wonderful curriculum BIO Girls offers to girls in our community contributes to their wellbeing and mental health, which is very important to our organization.”
The grant program helps to improve community health and health equity, and enhance local service systems, via restricted charitable contributions for defined projects. Collaborating 501(c)3 non-profit organizations applied to receive grant funds to address significant issues identified in the CHI Oakes Hospital’s community health needs assessments. These can include improving mental health and more.
